Executive Chef - Conor O’Reilly

Beginning as a busser just a few miles outside of Atlanta at East Cobb pizza parlor Capozzi’s, Conor O’Reilly learned the ins and outs of the industry and first experienced the irresistible feeling of being in the kitchen. He eventually started tossing and flipping pizza dough, before rising through the ranks and has since prepared dishes in the kitchens of farm-forward eateries, fine-dining establishments, and Michelin-starred restaurants. In 2017, he achieved his own solo recognition with a StarChefs nomination while working under executive-chef Drew Van Leuvan.

Today, as executive chef at Midtown’s beloved seafood bungalow Lure, he incorporates his own self-proclaimed “spontaneous” culinary style. Whether in his chef coat or at home cooking dinner for his family, he creates full-flavored dishes from any ingredients – just show him tofu from a farmer’s market, and he’ll soon be whipping up alkaline dough for ramen noodles. These local markets are just one of the many reasons he loves cooking in the South. With the help of local farmers, O’Reilly loves preparing dishes made with fresh ingredients grown from and for his community and feels privileged to elevate the restaurant simultaneously.

During all four seasons, he gardens, growing his own produce from tomatoes to strawberries and much more, and in his downtime, he’s enjoying a quiet weekend at the beach or on the lake – fittingly surrounded by seafood – and out on the water paddleboarding or swimming.
