Executive Chef, Justin Baunach 

Beginning his culinary career at age 13 working for his grandmother’s catering company, Justin Baunach’s passion for unique dishes and seasonal ingredients has been brewing for more than two decades. Now, he joins the Fifth Group Restaurants family as executive chef at Lure, Midtown’s bungalow-inspired seafood destination.

Opening his own catering company in 2010, JMB Culinary, Baunach followed in his grandmother’s footsteps before rejoining restaurant kitchens as executive chef of The House Brasserie in Old Town Scottsdale, Az., a quaint, Victorian-era restaurant known for its hyperlocal ingredients & hospitality. He went on to hold several executive chef roles from Arizona to Alabama, before making the move to Atlanta this year. Baunach and his work have been featured in both local and national publications including Rolling Stone and The New York Times, his top priority being to foster relationships with local farmers and build bright, bold flavors that celebrate the seasons – and he looks forward to doing the same at Lure. 

Baunach is passionate about creating memorable experiences for both his guests and those who work alongside him, striving to serve as a motivational and empowering mentor in and out of the kitchen. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his three children, playing sports and attending motorcycle races.
